Novation’s Plug-in FX suite provides five key effects from Novation’s illustrious synth heritage, including signature effects derived from the legendary SuperNova II. The five independent VST/AU plug-ins include Chorus, Delay, Tremelo, Phaser and the famously flexible, powerful filter featuring overdrive. Each and every one of them offers a significant upgrade from standard sequencer effects.

The Novation filter plug-in is perhaps the most sought-after effect of the five. Modelled on the filter section of the Supernova II, this powerful effect has an array of features and a unique sound that sets it apart from any other filter on the market. An audio triggered envelope alongside five different filter types, three different octave slopes and a “crunchy” overdrive dial, allow this filter to deliver a wide variety of dynamic filter modulation effects. Of all the filter types, the dual peak filter is rare in this day and age, but capable of delivering that signature “WOW” sound — a key ingredient for modern dance remixes. The filter also features a “Q-Norm” dial, a resonance normaliser that reduces the signal level in relation to the resonance level; ideal for mimicking classic filters like those found on Moog and Oberheim synthesizers, or the Roland TB303.

The Novation Delay plug-in is an enhanced version of the Supernova II delay and an essential for any producer’s arsenal. The delay can of course be used to bring an edge to guitars or to provide a slap-back delay for vocals. However, with the addition of a high- and low-pass in-line filter, it can also deliver funky dub-style effects or a quasi-tape echo. The various stereo modes offer yet more creative flexibility.

The Tremolo has never been seen before as a dedicated Novation effect. It is based on the panning section of the Supernova II. Depth and speed controls sit alongside a new ePhase control that brings another dimension this effect, helping to produce fully variable auto-pan stereo spatial effects.

Finally, the Chorus and Phaser effects directly model the same effects featured on the award-winning, industry-changing Novation K- Station synthesizer.

The Novation Plug-in Suite brings quality digital signal processing to a new level of affordability, placing sound-sculpting flexibility and professional solutions within reach of producers on even the tightest of budgets.

For this library of Inspiring Guitar Loops, Groove Option asked guitar player Rémi Saboul to create various guitar parts, including rythmic chord progressions, vamps, signature voicings and guitar solo phrases. He also proposes many sound textures such as wah wah and reverse effect and it sounds great!

As usual with loops, feel free to pitch shift, filter or apply any kind of transformations to the loops to create your own sounds.

Some of these loops have been inspired by Groove Option’s Nu Jazz Grooves Vol 1 so if you also need some drum and bass parts, check this library out!

About the producer:

Rémi Saboul is an active musician since 1992, contributing to various projects such as the electro music band Rinôçérôse, with which he was nominated at France’s music awards “Les Victoires de la musique” in the category best Electro album. He also played or plays with rock bands Drive Blind, Psycho Lemon, Sabo, Rose’n'Roll and many others.

About ten years ago, he started investing his immense energy in Jazz and improvised music, in particular as a member of the band Smoky Joe Combo and also playing with various Big Bands.

Needless to say that it’s a real privilege to have such an ecclectic and highly talented musician to record guitar loops for us!

We used a brand new Premiere APK Cabria Drum Kit with Sabian and Zildjian cymbals and a Pearl double kick pedal. Our unfinished live room gave us a sparkling ambience that really adds to the powerful energy of our resident metal drummer who gave the new Remo drum heads some serious punishment. The kick drum gives you the right amount of “click” to cut through heavy guitar riffs and the snare drum is crisp and punchy.

This loop pack offers a wealth of modern metal grooves, double pedal licks and thunderous fills which should add some real aggression and power to your metal or rock productions. Tempos range from 90 bpm to 175 bpm.

What is the Fatso? Well the Fatso is a fantastic tone-sweetening box. Harmonic thickening and tape-like saturation are easily created using its simple controls. The unit used for this product is a modded Fatso… Called the UBK Fatso. The compression settings have been tweaked by Greg at Kush Audio.

So this wonderful unit has been used to impart it’s analog goodness upon 5 vintage synths.

The Moog MG-1, Korg Delta, Roland JX3P, Ensoniq ESQ1 and the Yamaha DX100.

The result is some tasty sampled instruments just brimming with personality and old school character.

This product is compatible with EXS-24 and Kontakt 3 (full retail version)

Most of the instruments are multi-sampled. Only the single cycle oscillator patches are not.
